🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Frustration Regarding Sizing Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes without notifying all users about the change. Digital Channels Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Changes Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
